I saw a pair of these on e-bay (since you mentioned it)
They are NEMA 23 single stack. Not really powerful, less than
50in/oz holding torque. But holding tourque is not the end all and
be all of steppers. There was a gentleman on here last week, 2:1
NEMA23 into a 10 TPI leadscrew, yet the power delivered was over 300
pounds of force !
Here is what you can do with something like these.
Circuit board etcher, Dremel type milling machine.
small lightwieght router, think trim router, but there is no reason
your table could not be 48" x 48"
Plasma cutting table
but the best thing you could do is anything ! put something
together, see how easy it is, then see your mistakes and not only
will you have more certainty about learning, you will have
accomplished something !
