Gecko 320 external pwr question

Mariss,
When you are using an external 5 volt power supply with the G-320, can you
the same power supply for both the 5 volt referance and also the err/res
circuit? If so, where do you tie in the 5 volt minus?
Is there any extra power available on the Encoder Supply, enough to run the
small err/res board that Alan is selling? <A HREF="http://www.sfu.ca/~alan/gecko/err.html">Gecko Error Reset Controller</A>
