I think Jon's formula is correct.

In the general case

F= 2*Pi*t/l where F is the force exerted by the leadscrew,
t is the torque applied, and l is the lead (distance per revolution).

Units must be consistent. If torque is measured in oz*in,
force will be in oz, etc.

For torque in oz*in ,force in lb, and lead in inches the equation becomes

F= 0.393t/l
