No it's actually a center. The lathe I have is like 28" from the front of the
chuck to the exit if the spindle opposite of the bed. I was going to make a
spider but the pieces I am working on are only 24" Someone told me that there
is a center that will expand inside the spindle for what I need to do. I was
wanting to do it that way since I am not done building a steady rest so I can
do it over the bed. Thanks, Brad
