Hi all,
snip
First a note on dates: DOS will read the BIOS, date and this
starts at 1980.
Re: DOS & Windows
First - look for clock chip - YES? Read date/time
NO? Use default date/time
Default _usually_ "1/1/1980 / 00:00:00"
The Bios date is not used for anything during 'booting'.
After this point, when the system gets to executing the 'programmed'
part of the startup routine, any 'programmed (batch file commands)' can
reset the date and/or time, to whatever.
Linux = Check your documentation.
