Hello,

At Westec,there were a few CAD companies touting their abilities in
this area of machine control. They were not inexpensive packages...

While a simple kinematics change (in the controller, or the CAD)
should make it possible for the machine/control to work on the "side"
of the ballmill; there is still the problem of this new "tilt" of the
cutter interfering with some other part of the surface. In other
words, the degree or direction of the "tilt" as it relates to the
surface may need to change to prevent gouging. The model of the
machine AND its interaction with the part surfaces needs to be
considered and compensated. This is far from trivial, IMO.
