Exceedingly easy! If you connect the B to C, which is also at +ve, and E at
-ve, ZAP! B must ALWAYS have an appropriate current-limiting resistor in

Turning parts CAN be OK. But it can ALSO zap transistors without giving a
hint! You must NEVER "turn parts" in the sockets to "change pins around"
unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing! Because that can not only zap
the semiconductors you are fumbling with, it might wreck part of the circuit
in which they stand!
