BobCAD will give you another code number 'if you wind up getting your hard
drive trashed', or some other good excuse. But, really, regarding copy
protection: Companies should have a right to license a product they
developed. You can't park your Saturn at the L.A. airport, fly to O'Hare,
and get into someone else's Saturn, and drive away with it, just because
you own one in L.A.
If you do WORK at work, take your computer with you, or if it's THAT
important, make your company 'buy a seat'. We're not talking money that'd
break you, (or them). Just compare the prices of Vector, BobCAD, or
Dolphin with, say, AutoCAD (as a list member, you can get a very good
discount on some of the products). You can probably buy a 'list-price'
package of the above, for less than most 'plug-in' packages used to support
the big A. (I'd feel insulted if I had to pay the price A-CAD asks for,
then have to turn right around and buy a bunch more add-ons, just to make
my work easier). That's why I stuck with DesignCAD (95% the capability at
10% the price)! Plus, you can write your own add-ons, if you want to, with
their Basic-like, BasicCAD language!
