RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] com problem

As I recall I ran into a similar problem. The problem was with the E
stop. When I set it up I left it floating. Check the documentation to
see where you must connect this pin. After fixing this it would reset
and identify the signal generator.

Hi,

DeskNC uses an external pulse generator to send pulse to the motor
driver and communicate with the PC via a serial cable.

With my desktop, there was no problem, but when I use my notebook,
the error messages:

"could not send command to controller - Aborting"
"controller not initialized. Running in preview mode"

invariably pops up when I start DeskNC for windows

The parameters for the controller in the parameter files are:

[CONTROLLER]
PORT=1
BAUD=5
STATUS=1
CONTOURING=1

Tried changing parameters to

PORT=2

resulted in error message

"Invalid port number (COM2)

Changing the baud rate from 5 to 4 didn't help, neither did 3, 2 nor
1.

Anyone has any idea what may be the problem or how to go about
identifying the problem.
