Hi all,
I guess the best answer that I can come up with is it is lot easier to
convert the knee then the quill. It is not that you have to drill 5" holes,
etc. I'm in the same
position, in trying to convert my Bridgeport for the Z-Axis.
Check out web site www.cncauto.com They are in Amherst, New Hampshire,
they milling
machine "System M3X-#C". They are saying +/- .0005 positioning accuracy over
the saddle.
There Z-Axis using the knee. I E-Mailed them, & they told me that they use
spiral bevel gears
not the straight bevel gears on the Knee that Bridgeport installs. I could
not find the spiral bevel
gears.

subjects, that are not allowed on the CCED list.
