EMC and M6 word (toolchange)

Any idea how EMC handles M6?

I tried just typing it in MDI mode, and it acknowledges the tool change
(the tool number on the display changes). But I haven't run an M6 code
through it as part of a program, so I'm not sure what it actually does.

What I'd LIKE for it to do is to run over to a toolchange position, wait
for me to change tools, then run back and keep going. I don't have an
automatic tool changer. I'm it.

Thanks,

Tom
