Ugh - even a DSL line is awfully slow for an entire CD ROM full of stuff.

Yes, and you'll need an air conditioner in your shop to keep from roasting.
Maybe you already have one. Note that servo motion systems may have
much higher "energy content" than audio signals.

These are all pretty common parts, the 4000 series bordering on obsolete.

I'd better mention that the servo amp board kit is not the complete system.
It is only an analog-input velocity servo amp. You still need the encoder
counters and the command DACs, at least. Those are sold complete
(You probably do NOT want to deal with hand-soldering some of these
SSOP chips.)
