Linear Capacitive Strip Tape

Hello!
I am doing a DRO design project using Linear Capacitive Tape
(strip). The same capacitive tape that the digital caliper uses. I
have been searching for the linear capacitive tape over the internet
using search engines, google, teoma, etc. with no luck.
Do you have any idea where I can get the capacitive tape that I
can cut to size?
I know the project sounds funny, but I can transfer the readout
(from the digital caliper) onto the larger LED 7 segment displays. I
have three 6" digital calipers that I plan to use as x, y, and z axis
and tranfer the readout to the LED displays. I just needed a longer
linear capacitive tape to do this.
Any information would be helpful, thanks!
