Two ways: 1) a set of coils spaced out along the rail is activated in
sequence, each being turned on ahead of the projo and turned off as projo
enters; 2) two conductors spaced just wide enough for a conductive projo to
make contact with each, probably using wipers to make firm connection. A
big jolt of powewr is applied, and magnetic field expands in all direction,
carrying projo along by reaction. The latter can get you Mach 15-20.
