Dear friends,
I am looking for a small relatively light but precise and sturdy
benchtop lathe.
CNC is not necesary but would be nice to find a used one with laptop
control.
The idea is to mount it in a truck, so most possible it will be better
to get a conventional one.
Then it is necesarry to have full Norton box with metric and inch
treading. I don't think at all to get me a hobby unit where I must
change gears each time I need to thread or change advances.
Best would be a small tool room lathe that may be used.
Dimentions I am thinking of:
max diameter to turn 7" 175mm
distance between centers 20" 500mm
speed 50-2000 rev
weight up to 280 KG
Brands like Emco or Chineese I dont take into account because the poor
performance I have observed.
Brands like Hardinge, Schaeublin, Leinen, Traub, Boehler... would be the
most appreciated. But I didn't find any appropriated machine yet. (I
didn't even find the Schaeublin Internet page although I searche for
hours.)
For a very good machine I am willing to pay up to 2 or 3000$, but that
must be perfect.
I do appreciate every sugestions or offers.
Thank you very much
