Dan:

Assuming that you are using Imperial units, rather than Metric, F5.0 will
yield 5 IPM on a linear axis.

If you've programmed an axis as rotary, The calculation is the same, except
that the granularity is expressed in degrees per step so the feedrate will
be in units of degree per minute.

When you are using coordinated moves, TurboCNC will allow the axis having
the slowest feed rate to control, and the other axes will have their feed
rates adjusted to maintain synchronization.

|One more question, if I am using a rotary axis and a linear axis and I put
|in a F5.0 what does this mean? Is it 5 ipm on the linear axis or some
|number of degrees per minute on the rotary axis? I find that the speed
|greatly varies depending on the relative contributions from the different
|axes in a simple G01 move. Again, this is with TurboCNC.
