Thank Bill and Jon for the quick replies.
I am setting up on my main computor, as I only have one graphics
card/case/PSU/monitor and keyboard. I do have a Via chipset EPOX Slot
one board, ram, Celeron 466 and 2Gb Hd that I have thought about
stuffing onto the case with the controller, but figured I would
rather use my main PC as it is already set up as long as I am just
playing around.
Can BDI be directed to install on an existing unformatted primary
partition without it deleting the whole drive? Not a big deal, as I
have installed the WIN98SE and WIN 2000PRO partiions on my spare 17Gb
HD, so I could experiment with this without risking the 60Gb main
drive which my wife has all her professional work on (delete that and
I'm dead - I disconnect that before playing :)
Can I download an image of BDI-tng? There is no link to it on the BDI
page.
My ATI card has worked perfectly without any configuration issues or
conflicts through WIN95/WIN98/WIN98SE/WIN2000Pro on both Via and
SIS boards (quite an achievment). I'd rather not replace it if I
don't have to.
The SCSI adaptor is just used for connecting my slide scanner, and
could be left unconfgured for Linux (if Linux allows that). All HD's
are IDE/ATA.
Under KellyCAM and WIN2000PRO, my motors do a sort of rythmic pulsing
regardless of rotation speed. Is this the effect of a none realtime
OS?
