Just MY ignernt opinion, but the "hysterisis" inherent in the use of such as
the Hall switch precludes it repeatability better than, oh, 0.015", I'd
guess. Too, a "microswitch" needs no "interface", while the Hall effect
switch reqires a DC supply, and at least a gate or transistor to "watch" its
state.

A carefully/aka-skillfully-installed microswitch can be excellent, and needs
NO "interface" (if you don't count the wire between it and the circuitry),
and is vastly cheaper and inherently more reliable.

If you install screws with lock-nuts to "push" the switch-lever, and adjust
that until it "fires" where you want, you may be surprised how precise and
repeatable it is!
