I agree with the choice of using micro switches. Halls will not be precisely
repeatable, have a dead band and are more expensive to implement. The
ultimate in precision is attainable using optic sensors (with adjustable
flags) which are cheaper than Halls but more than micros and also need a
small amount of electronics to run them. KISS (Keep It Simple & Sweet)

I'm having good results with regular microswitches, it repeats about
+-.0005" was just wondering if hall would be bettter.
