Luis,
That is a good thing, it means the motor is putting out real power.
It is not good if the motor case gets hotter than 85C.
Is your motor a 6-wire or 8-wire motor? If it is and if you have more
speed than you need, re-wire your motor for full-winding operation
(for 6-wire motors) or series for an 8-wire motor.
If you do, set the current to 2 Amps on the drive. The motor will be
much cooler but your maximum speed will 1/2 of what you get now.
There is no easy way to reduce power supply voltage.
