This is most likely normal. You can check, but they will reach thermal
equilibrium at some point. If the machine was not moving during the
45 minutes, then you should try running them back and forth for a
while, and see if the heating is worse. These motors are most likely
designed to operate at up to 100 C at the hottest internal spot. This
will shorten their life, however. If you can keep them close to 50 C
case temperature, they should last forever. It sounds like you are right
about at the 50 C point now.
