Sigh!!! The free software would have saved me lots of work if it
worked faultlessly the way it did when I first tried it. What I did
was to window an "area" (line or polygon) and the program open a
secondary window giving information on the average and standard
deviation of the color values of all the pixels included within that
area. Unfortunately, all that is doing now is to return zero values
for the average and std deviation all the time!! :-)

If anyone knows of any program - free or otherwise which can do the
above, it will be greatly appreciated if you can let me/list knows
on/off list.

Any info highly appreciated and thanks.
