Hi,
Are you sure about the rotating encoder in these? I have the EscalaII
(3 axis) and the text reads that the quadrature is taken from the rod
directly, from micro etched grooves, analogous to a glass scale. I
havnt seen an error that large from mine, but I havn't really tested
it in depth.

Could the mounting or the wire rod, be loose in some way? I could
also see a miscount happening if the rod was dirty?

Also they will make custom sizes since the rod and case extrusion is
easily shortend.
