Floppy succeeds in copying files. It was by that means I determined Linux
C++ compiler is not happy with my source code, which works fine with
Borland compiler.

Tried that! It won't boot from the CD either. Bios settings do not seem to
affect it.

I can't though. All I can see is person after person having days of hacking
before getting past some arcania or other, and then there's this bit about
overwriting offsets. IOW if I want to do it in a way that is sensible and
safe, I have to learn the code well enough to hack it. Way before that
point, the game simply isn't worth the candle. Linux right now is where
MSDOS was twenty years ago. Accept that.
