Abort also resets it. If M2 and M30 behavior gets changed to sticky then
don't forget abort too. Reason - you might set x and y to part zero and z
above the part to do a dry run. Once you see everythings ok you might abort
the dry run - you wouldn't want to loose x and y at this point right?

I use MDI - if I want to set the Y axis to zero at the edge of a piece I
might use a wiggler with a .1 tip and find the edge - then type g92y-.05

It's been a while but I remember the software limits seemed to move at
times. I only have home switches at one end and it would be nice to be able
to rely on the software limits to keep from hitting the stops on the other
end. I forget exactly what they were doing - I think they were following
the g92 offsets around instead of staying relative to machine home. I ended
up putting huge working lengths in the ini to disable them.

Yes, we seem quite divided and this would make everyone happy. Wonderful

Hey good memory Matt. I changed to zero backlash ball screws and never
looked back...
