Hi,

The guy who makes the Wren model turbine had the fans made initially by
Rapid Prototyping. There is a government sponsored outfit near here which
does stuff of this type to help companies get going. The CAD drawings were
fed into the machine and this produced an epoxy master which was cleaned up
and used to make a silicon rubber mold from which wax patterns are made to
be investment cast in alloy. The only real machining needed is turning the
centre boss and boring the holes. Rapid Prototyping is an expensive business
but it makes jobs such as this easy.
