mini thicknesser

Hi,

Wonder if someone can help this cheapskate to save some money, this
penny-pincher who would like to do some repeatative practice
engraving on the same piece of wood. What I hope to do is to do
practice engraving No. 1, run it through a thicknesser to get a new
smooth surface with constant thickness, do practice engraving No. 2,
run thro' thicknesser again, etc. hopefully ad infiniti

Only problem, one can't run a 9" piece of timber through a full size
thicknesser.

So where does one go to purchase a mini desktop thicknesser, or how
would one go about fabricating one?
