THat brings another methodology to mind. Back when I was a kid, we used to make
drinking glasses out of used pop bottles. We'd soak a piece of sewing thread
with lighter fluid, and tie it with a snug overhand knot at the approprieate
place, and light it off. after it had burned for 10 to 20 seconds, we'd drop
the bottle in cold water. The edges still needed to be smoothed, but it made
great glasses. The thread made a _very_ straight cut. Your mileage may very,
as it takes a little practice, but I'd forgotten how much fun it was.....:-)
