Believe it or not, that's because glass is really a liquid. If you take a window
out of a really old house, you'll find that it's much thicker at the bottom than
it is at the top. Some old glass also shows rippling, for the same reason. It
_wasn't_ a manufacturing defect due to old techniques, like some folks think.
