I'm not sure about the chalk and yardstick, but am very happy with the
setup that I have using rotary encoders, line, and a nifty freeware program
started by Steve Lindsay. Sure beats the heck out of (mis)counting turns
and having to remember which way the backlash is and reading a dial that I
can no longer see:})
