It is easy to find a solid state relay that will handle the load. What you
then need is a circuit to drive the relay if you are looking to do it from
the parallel port or from a microcontroller as thy don't have enough current
output. Go to my site ( http://www.ktmarketing.com/CNC.html ) and pick the
link titled "Parallel Port Hookup to Controller" (it is the 5th from the
top). At the bottom of the page is a circuit that Mo and Jon Elson described
on this group months ago. I have used it and it does the job for less than
$1.00
