Bob:

When you say "resolution", to what are you referring? Is that the resolution
of the values in the G code, or the resolution to which your control can
work? The finish you get on wood will depend on the speed of your cutter and
the feed rate. If you are cutting solid wood, such as oak, when you cut
across the grain it will be quite difficult to completely eliminate the
sanding process. However cutting with the grain, it is not so hard to do so.
Also, the type of cutter you are using will determine the quality of the
cut.
