I have used my router to cut sheet aluminum and even thin stainless steel.
It has just a standard Bosch router and I use a 1/16 circuit board drill bit
to
cut with. I know that sounds weird, but they work great, and are real cheap.
They look just like a 2 flute up spiral router bit, with a small point on
them. They are solid carbide (I think they are re-sharpened). They cost
about 10.00 -15.00 for a pack of 50. You can see a pic of my router in the
photo section in the folder 'Bill's Router'
