Most software allows to enter the pitch value used.
acuracy can be controlled by calibrating the actual values used.
commercial machine tool controllers go even further by allowing
to enter intermediate calibration setting every couple of inches.
This would be overkill for most hobby machines.

The point about expensive precision ground ballscrews is the ability
to adjust for backlash free opperation over there entire length.
A less acurate screw needs to be adjusted as of not to bind at any
point over the length of the screw, which means more backlash!

positional accuracy is just a minor benefit.
