Leadscrew Error

So I've been ruminating over converting my mill/drill to ballscrews.. As
has been discussed recently, there's a whole lot of quality levels out
there... On some high end machines it is possible to map out the
leadscrew error - is there any way to do this with EMC or other
"inexpensive" software? The advantage would be that you could,
theoretically, use relatively inexpensive leadscrews.
