Hi
Ya the most useful way to use macros is to assign them to a Gcode or actually
assign a gcode to call a macro and the variables can be defined within the
gcode line. I am not a master at macro programming but have made use of
them on HAAS controllers I think Funac is almost Identical to that whether
that is a universal style I don't know. I think they would be usfull to the
home hobbist because you can make routines that simplify your specific needs.
They allow for calculations and variables and can insert the results into
the XYZA axis. simple IF,AND,OR,greater than, less than equals to ect. I
haven't learned C programming yet but that might also be able to achieve
these and insert it into the controller but again that's over my head for
now.
I will post a sample later gotta go. Josh
