I am not sure of the differences, but the Hobby CNC site says, 1.5amp
at 35V.
Xylotex is 2.5 amp at 35 volt.
seems there are differences so there should be some attention to the
ratings, which ever you choose.
The Xylotex offers only assembled units.
has step and direction like all others.
offers sleep mode by a pin to a off board switch
has a shut down mode, also by a pin to remote switch
and has a home output line.
on-board amp pot that elemintates external set resistor and
has a pin to connect a fan for cooling.
those are some nice features.
I'm not affilated with any company.
(but jeff, you can always send a check to...)
And a note here is that in the last year and a half of being on this
site, I have not heard a bad word about HobbyCNC.
So, if you plan on buying any drivers and have reservations, search
this site for comments regarding setting them up or running them.
I just got a Xylotex to try out, the power supply came in yesterday
from MPJA, a steal at $5.00. 24V/6A item #13299 PS
www.mpja.com
The only thing I did not like about the Xylotex is the connector. it
requires a Molex pin connector instead of a screw connector. but the
screw connectors would add about another $4.78 from Digi-Key as they
are 0.1" centers. tiny screws, tiny connector.
Digi-Key P/N 277-1280-ND
I've got the breakout board laid out and will have some made in about
a week.
I'll post my findings once I run some tests.
