Old machines, back to '65 or so, had standard Zerk grease fittings.
Many people use grease,
but it clogs up the passages, and then the machine doesn't get lubed all
the way through.
There's an oil hole in the center of the table, but I guess you won't
need that, as you have the ball
screws. I use ISO VG 68 way oil, available from all machine tool supply
outfits for the
sliding surfaces. I modified a cheap 8-Oz grease gun by removing the
plunger and spring and
sealing the barrel, and filling with oil. Just turn it handle-up to
lube the ways. I use SAE # 10
oil for the head, but there are special oils for this. You might use
grease on the ballscrews,
the manufacturer should have a recommendation on it.
