I found a junked Cincinnati Milacron and I got grazy idea if I could
rebuild it.
There are the servo motors and controllers still in the machine. My
idea is to control the servos by the computer.
But, I have some major difficulties, since I am not a servo expert in
any way, so I do not have a faint idea what kind of
controlling input is required for servo cotrollers or can I say
amplifiers. Neither I know is there a feedback from the servo
(resolver) straight to controller or does the feedback go somehow
through the computer of the machine. If I could know what kind of
input is required into servos, I could try to change, e.g. pulse &
direction control from the PC to the signal required, assumed the
feedback goes straight to the controller.
Servos are made by Gettys, they are most probably DC motors.
The type of the controller is 11-1010-97.
Tell me if I am totally on a wrong track.
Terveisin,
