Hi Jan,
My mistake!
The pitch is 2,5 mm, so the screw has four thread per 10 mm!
Also, the diameter is 20 mm
The surface can be polished (so said my friend, machinist)
ONCE AGAIN:
Does anybody made some linear motion with standard screws?

If this material you describe is simple V-thread "All-Thread" ("Fastener
stuff"), it is not only probably not very precise, but the surface of the
threads is rough, intended for fastener-nuts which are turned with a WRENCH
("spanner" in England), and let remain still forever!
