I think that rhino is an excellent choice for a few reasons, the software is
robust enough to handle complex nurbs modelling as well as 2d drawings. Not to
mention its translation skills.Support is excellent as well as the price.I
think if someone is cutting anything on the maxnc it is not going to be a
metal removal machine loop for GM or an automated weld line. It is going to
be geared more for one offs.Points, lines, curves, arcs are all a breeze in
rhino.Dimensioning is possible and yes, you can even plot from it.Surfacing
is intuitive as is the solid modelling,I especially like how easy it is to
"explode solids after a couple of boolean operations and jump right to
surfacing for fillets,blends ect..
Rhino is an excellent "starter" software and robust enough for a veteran.Use
it to make your duckets and then when you land that big Ford contract, buy a
seat of U.G ;-)))
The gui is cool and easy to navigate and I believe this software is only
going to get better and better.A ground floor kind of a thing.
I also really like Visualmill.I have been using it for a little while, not
very long but with my experience, long enough to know it will do what I want
on complex 3d surfaces and my simple 2d needs, plus 4 axis???Pretty cool.It
took me all of 2 days to have this software hammered out..Great package combo
price...great software's......and i like to be singled out;-)))))
