I have read this on the list and have not seen anyone mention it so I
thought I would. I use EMC and never ran into this problem, so take it for
what it is worth. If running from pure DOS and not a DOS window, make sure
that there is nothing in the config.sys, or autoexec.bat files that may
interfere with the step pulse timing, like himem.sys, CD-Rom drivers, etc
also check your bios settings and turn off things such as power saving
features that interfere.
Others who have had this problem may be of more help.
