Lubrication question - Might be OT

This might be OT. If so, please answer directly (or tell me where to
go)

Ther is a sign on the ways of the Bridgeport I'm working on which
says "Lubricate with Molycote type M emulsion oil only". What is
this stuff and is there a substitute I can use?
