Molycote is a Dow Corning product of a Molybdenum Disulfide
suspension in oil. You can find a substitute in just about any
good automotive type store (especially a motorcycle shop where it
is used all the time) and some industrial suppliers have Molycote
itself. Don't let the word emulsion throw you. MoS2 in
insoluable so it is in an oil carrier. You won't need much and
if this stuff goes into a one-shot lubricator or automatic, then
dilute it in regular way oil or something. A little Moly goes a
long way. It is also black and ugly - gets on everything.

I think it would also make a good lube for ballscrews, since it
works very well on ball bearings, gears, etc.
