Is this based on VM3 or VM4, Bob?

I have some hours on VM3 Free now, and am frustrated at the excessive
amount of "air cutting" it does in the roughing. It creates toolpaths
where the tool makes passes entirely outside the defined rawstock size, and
does not very intelligently arrange its cuts within each level (machines
around one end, machines around the other end, goes back to the first end
to start an outlining cut, etc.)

The parallel finishing leaves a lot to be desired also, unless I am missing
something. There seems to be no way to assure that vertical walls are
cleaned, unless they are lucky enough to be on an even increment of
stepover.

What would really have been nice would be the horizontal finishing option.
What I see in VM Basic versus VM Free, again unless I am missing something,
is just the ability to load more file types. I do my 2.5D machining by
generating toolpaths myself in my 2D CAD program...

Notwithstanding, thank you for the obvious efforts you have put forth to
make this possible! The price is right, if the "bugs" have been removed
compared to VM3 Free.

Best regards,

Randy
