thanks for all feedback....
i too belive that the problems has something to do with the pc
itself, bad caps, poor powersupply etc. since my rare hickups only
occurs at fast feedrates with short ramps. it might be because the pc
and driver powersupply (80 v /1 kw) shares the same ac-line, i.e. the
pc ac power drops. i´ll swap to my lap to verify this theory. i dont
remeber if i mentioned it before, but the hickups shows up only
within 3-4 minutes after firing up the machine+pc, so it could also
be a temperature issue or something xp does/loads in the start.

chris--> i know that fc from now defaults to highest system priority.
xp lets you do it easily though, with a ctrl+alt+del to bring up the
settings. however this had to be repeated every session, but now it
stays there permanently. i´ll call rick tonight (yeah, sweden is 9
hrs ahead of california) and ask him what os he recommends.
