My point is that Mach1 is implemented in a way that seems to make the
best use of XP as a controller. I know your preference is for an
external box, but the poster was asking how to do it on XP. I think Art
has shown you do it by implementing a high level kernel driver. You can
either use his work or do it all on your own.
Ranting about why you do or don't like XP is not helpful at all. The OS
is what it is and you can use it or not as you like.
