Here is what I do. It is probably barbaric, but it gets the job done
quickly.
untar the file in the /usr/local/nist directory
Then just do a ./install
I don't back-up any of the files or remove anything. The one caution is make
sure your run and ini file is named something different than the default
name or it will be over written.
With the newer releases that use freqmot you will want to create a new run
and ini file from the generic version as much has changed.
