The Omnitech motion card is based on the LM-628 motion chip. Due to the
design of the PCB it has a serious tuning problem that was never resolved.
At one time they even tried to update the firmware with no success. It was
a real shame as they had a pretty nice CNC program to run the card with.
After many thousands of $ in wasted time, I discarded the Omnitech and
bought an HCTL-1100 based motion card and software from Mektronix
Technology. The performance exceeds most current commercial controls as far
as 3D surface contouring goes.
