John, everything you say is correct, but consider that a CNC
Bridgeport can only be used as a CNC. Thus, it is no good as a
manual mill and can't be converted. Once the control is wasted,
the rest of the machine is just scrap, regardless of how good it
is. We have had people on this list get CNC Bridgeports for $500
or even free.

I'm not talking about the EZ-Trac Bridgeports which are both
manual and CNC, just the totally CNC ones. Personally, I'd love
to have one but have no space (common lament).
